Lundin Shares Rise After Next CEO Named – MarketWatch

Lundin Mining Corp.’s shares advanced Friday after the base metals miner said it has picked a company insider to succeed Marie Inkster as chief executive.
At midday, the shares were 3% higher at C$9.97, having hit a high of C$10.10 earlier in the session. The stock has been moving lower since about mid-April and is down 12% since the end of last year.
Lundin late Thursday said Peter Rockandel has been selected to assume the role of president and chief executive after Ms. Inkster informed directors she was stepping down at the end of the year for personal reasons. Ms. Inkster joined the mining company in 2008 and served as chief financial officer for 10 years before being named president and CEO in 2018.
Mr. Rockandel is currently the company’s senior vice president of corporate development and investor relations. Before joining Lundin, he was managing director of investment banking at GMP Securities, leading its North American mining practice.
